Partnerships
Marais Studios was partnered with Resident, a New York based dining club, from 2019 to 2020, to show paintings and drawings at their dining and social events. Brian Mommsen, Resident's founder, supports culinary talent by giving chefs (including Jonah Reider, who was noted by the New York Post, New Yorker, and Wall Street Journal during his time at Columbia University, for hosting a supper club called Pith in his dorm room) residence at Resident. Resident embraces an artistic ethos and vibe. Mommsen emphasizes creativity, and notes, as quoted in Domino, “There is a theatrical motif that permeates several of the design elements. Often, I refer to our Resident chefs as artists.” Marais Studios is happy to have been a part of this lovely and stimulating endeavor.

Interiors: Design and Consultation
Katharine Marais has extensive background in set design and decoration, including 3 feature films, one of which was featured at Sundance and Cannes, a short film, a Rozzi Crane music video set, and interior design & fashion consultation for a nightclub in downtown Los Angeles. She has background in architectural theory, design, and furniture design from her college years. Katharine is available to offer interior design services on a case-by-case basis. Her style is musical and sensitive, with an emphasis on environmentally friendly practice, resourceful sourcing, authentic (non-synthetic) materials, and handmade or custom-designed pieces.
